CJ receives laptops from EU

Chief Justice David Maraga on May 6, 2020 received 38 laptops donated  to the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) by the European Union (EU). The laptops are a donation made to aid the justice actors in the dispensation of justice using the virtual platforms.nnThe CJ noted that the donation could not have come at a better time when the entire world is dealing with the Covid 19 pandemic.nnJustice Maraga said despite the scaling down of court operations, the justice sector had decided to use all means possible to ensure that essential processes are able to run in the justice sector.nn“The use of technology in dispensation of justice has since proved an invaluable channel through which we can carry out operations in the justice sector during this period of scaled-down court operations.” CJ saidnnThe laptops are for immediate use by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (5), the Judiciary (5), Kenya Prisons Service (18), National Police Service (5) and Probation and Aftercare Service (5).nn nn nn
