CHRP (Dr.) Elizabeth Kalei, Director, Human Resource Management and Administration

 

Dr Elizabeth Kalei, a Human Resource Professional with 23 years experience in Human Resource Management, is the current Director of Human Resource Management and Administration in the Judiciary. She joined the Judiciary from Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), where she was General Manager, Human Resource Development, heading the Human Resource and Administration function.

She previously worked at Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited (KPLC) in various key Human Resource positions for a period of 20 years.

Dr Kalei is a Certified Human Resource Professional – CHRP (K) and a holder of a PhD degree in Human Resource Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT). She also holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Nairobi.

 

Dr. Kalei also holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management from Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), now College of Human Resource Management (CHRM). She also holds an ordinary Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). Besides the above qualifications, Dr. Kalei is a Certified Engagement and Productivity Coach (CEPC) by the Coach Development Institute of Africa (CDI – Africa). She champions Coaching and Mentoring in her Career.

 

 

 

DEPUTY DIRECTORS

 

 

Ruth M. Kyengo, Human Resource Deputy Director, Talent Management

Ms. Ruth M. Kyengo, who  joined the Judiciary in March 2019, is a Human Resource practitioner with over 15 years experience both at operational and strategic levels.

She joined the Judiciary from KPMG Advisory services where she was in charge of overseeing Human Resource Advisory initiatives within East Africa.
Education Ms. Kyengo holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Kenyatta University.

Ms. Kyengo is a holder of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), now College of Human Resource Management (CHRM) and is a registered practicing human resource professional. She is a certified assessor in SHL talent assessment and accredited trainer by KPMG Africa Facilitators Accreditation Program (AFAP).

Previously, Ms Kyengo served in various leadership positions in different organisations including Jubilee Insurance company, PKF Consulting services, Federation of Kenya Employers and Kenya Institute of Management. She has successfully developed and facilitated implementation of numerous organizational development initiatives comprising HR function optimisation, organisation design, workforce optimisation, talent management and executive sourcing.

 

 

Andrew A. Okwach, Deputy Director, Human Resource Management

 

Mr Andrew A. Okwach was appointed to the post of Deputy Director Human Resource Management by the Judicial Service Commission in December 2018 after 28 years experience in Public Service as a Human Resource Management practitioner.

Mr. Okwach joined the Judiciary from Ministry of Education’s State Department of Basic Education and Early Learning where he was the Head of Human Resource Management and Development. He has had an illustrious career in the office of Attorney General and Department of Justice for more than 10 years and briefly served for tw0 years at the National Land Commission (NLC) to assist in operationalization in the Commission.

Mr. Okwach holds a Masters in Business Administration Degree in Human Resource Management and Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nairobi. He is a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) now College of Human Resource Management (CHRM) and is a registered practicing Human Resource professional. He is also a Registered Pension Trustee by Retirement Benefits Authority having been a Chairman of Ukulima Sacco Staff Pension Scheme for four (4) years.
Career Progression and Leadership: The new Deputy Director has served in various Ministries such as Office of the President, Government Press Department, then Ministry of Justice National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs and Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in various cadres in the Human Resource.

He is a vice chairperson of Ukulima Sacco Society Ltd.
