JPIP team visits courts to assess facility needs

The Judicial Performance Improvement Project (JPIP) has embarked on a documentation mission to establish  facility needs in various court stations, countrywide.  nnA team from the project visited Bomet, Kisumu, Webuye, Kitale, Eldoret, Kabarnet and Meru Law Courts  to find out the extent to which the refurbished containers will assist in creating efficiency and easing the access to justice.nnThe project, funded by the World Bank, has procured 15 metal containers that are to be distributed to various Courts across the country to be converted into Courtrooms, Chambers, holding cells, registries, archives, and offices.nnOnce distributed and refurbished, the containers are expected to ease congestion at the registries, provide adequate courtroom space, create room for file archiving and offices for Judiciary staff in a bid to improve service delivery and ease operations for members of the public.nn nn nn
