Commercial Division meets the International Trademark Association

Commercial and Tax Division of Milimani meets the International Trademark AssociationnnJudges of the Commercial and Tax Division held a meeting with a delegation from the International Trademark Association (INTA).nnThe meeting held at Milimani Law Courts focused on Intellectual Property rights and how the Judiciary can harness the research and knowledge of INTA on this distinctive area of law.nnLed by the Division’s Presiding Judge Mary Kasango, the judges welcomed the collaboration between the Commercial Division and the International Trademark Association on this specialised subject of law that is ever evolving and requires continuous enhancement of knowledge.nnThe International Trademark Association led by its CEO, Etienne Sanz de Acedo pledged their support for the Judiciary to ensure that judges and court officials are well versed in global trends on Intellectual Property. This will enable them to better execute their day-to-day work.nnOther judges of the Commercial and Tax Division who were present during the meeting included Justices Grace Nzioka and James Aaron Makau. The Division’s Program Officer Julie Wayua also attended.nnThe association’s CEO was accompanied by INTA’s representative, Africa and the Middle East, Tat-Tienne Louembe, and representatives of the Law firm of Coulson and Harney (Bowmans), Mr. Evans Monari and Ms. Terry Mwango.nn nn nn
