Courts record significant case backlog reduction, CJ Maraga

 The Judiciary has significantly reduced the number of cases pending in the court system in the last one year.nSpeaking during the annual Judges colloquium in Mombasa, Chief Justice David Maraga said courts have managed to bring down cases that are five years old from 110,000, that were in the system last year, to only 15,278 cases.nThe Chief Justice said strategies such as service weeks that were employed by the courts have enabled the success in case backlog reduction.  n“Efficacious and efficient disposal of matters remains our core promise to the people we serve. New court building opened at Molo Law Courts

A new court building was officially opened at Molo Law Courts. Chief Justice David Maraga  presided over the function  that was attended by residents and local leaders of Molo, led by Governor Lee Kinyanjui. nnThis is the fifth court project funded by World Bank through the Judicial Performance Improvement Project (JPIP), to be opened in the country.
