At the time of arrest

  1. You are allowed to remain silent; that is, not to answer any questions or give any information to the person arresting you.
  2. You have a right to be told by the person arresting you :
    1. Why you are being arrested
    2. That you may remain silent; and
    3. That if you choose to speak, your words may be used against you as evidence before a court of law.
