Annual Retreat for Kadhis Nairobi

Kadhis’ Courts are a key player in the delivery of justice. Testimony to this is the fact that the court’s footprint throughout the country has greatly improved and we now have 47 of the courts.nnIn the last Financial Year 2020/21 a total of 8,954 cases were filed in the Kadhis’ Courts. This was an increase of 1,747 cases from the 7,207 that were filed in the previous year.nnSeven thousand two hundred and thirty cases were resolved in the FY 2020/21, marking an increase from 5,261 cases that were resolved in the previous period.nn”I am aware of the concern around the need to recruit a stand-alone Registrar of Kadhis’ Courts as recommended in the Judiciary organisation review,” CJ Koome said.nnShe added: “I am happy to report that this is an ongoing process and we will soon have this issue settled.”nn nn nn nn nn
