High Court judges have elected Judge Eric Ogola as the new Principal Judge of the High Court. Ogola takes over from Judge Lydia Achode who was elevated to the Court of Appeal. He garnered 38 votes out of 58 votes cast. The Principal Judge serves for a non-renewable term of 5 years.
In his acceptance speech, the new Principal Judge promised to establish efficient lines of communication between his office and judges of the court while being responsive to their needs by setting up fora for efficiently addressing issues affecting them.
