1. The Sports Disputes Tribunal of Kenya has been established under Section55of the Sports Act 2013.
Jurisdiction of Tribunal:

(a) The Tribunal’s functions are described in Section 58(b) Section 59 of the Act provides that “the Tribunal may, in determining disputes apply alternative dispute resolution methods for sports disputes and provide expertise and assistance regarding alternative dispute resolution to the parties to a dispute”.
3. Section 61 of the Act provides that “the Chief Justice may in consultation with the chairperson of the Tribunal, and by notice in the Gazette, make rules governing the practise and procedure of the Tribunal having regard to the objectives of the Sports Act 2013”.
4. These Rules were^ adopted after consultation with the Chief Justice in accordance with Section 61 of the Act. The Rules apply to all proceedings, appeals or matters over which the Tribunal has jurisdiction either under the provisions of Section 58and 73 of the Act or otherwise.
